Azerbaijani chief of staff leaves for Saudi Arabia for military cooperation talks
A high-level Azerbaijani military delegation, led by First Deputy Minister of Defence and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for an official visit.
The visit comes at the invitation of General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
As part of the official program, Colonel General Valiyev is expected to hold a series of meetings with senior military officials of the Kingdom. Discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral military cooperation and exploring opportunities for regional security collaboration.
The Azerbaijani delegation also plans to visit the headquarters of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in Riyadh, where they will be briefed on the coalition’s efforts in combating terrorism and promoting peace and stability across the Islamic world.
