Azerbaijani FM informs Israeli counterpart of Armenia’s constant provocations PHOTO

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that Armenia is constantly provoking and damaging the peace process despite Azerbaijan's strong efforts to achieve post-conflict peace, security, and cooperation in the region. 

Bayramov made the remarks during the meeting with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen on March 29 as part of his official visit to Israel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel in bilateral and multilateral formats and discussed the issues of developing ties in the political, economic, trade, energy, education, high-tech, military-technical and humanitarian spheres.

Noting that ties between Azerbaijan and Israel are based on historical friendship and cooperation, Bayramov stressed that intensive mutual visits have a positive impact on the further development of relations.

According to him, along with the strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries held in Baku in January this year, a staff meeting of Israeli ambassadors to Eurasian countries with the participation of senior officials from the central office of the Israeli Foreign Ministry was also a proof of strong friendship and partnership.

Furthermore, speaking of the opening of an Azerbaijani embassy in Israel, Bayramov said the new diplomatic mission would contribute to enhancing strategic ties.

He also briefed Cohen on Azerbaijan’s efforts in clearing the mines planted by Armenia in the de-occupied lands of Azerbaijan.

Bayramov also drew his counterpart’s attention to the extensive reconstruction activities underway in the liberated lands and praised the involvement of Israeli companies in this process.

For his part, Cohen noted that his country is interested in comprehensive cooperation with Azerbaijan.
