Türkiye calls on parties in Kosovo to resolve tension via dialogue
REGION 30 May 2023 - 11:06
Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry has called on the parties in Kosovo to refrain from steps that could escalate tensions and resolve the situation through dialogue.
Ankara was following the development of the situation in northern Kosovo with concerns, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry’s Twitter account.
It said that the growing tensions are detrimental to regional security and stability.
The ministry said that Türkiye calls on the parties in Kosovo to refrain from steps that could escalate tensions.
"We appreciate the constructive role of the NATO Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo (KFOR) in preventing an escalation of events. We regret to learn that some KFOR military personnel have been injured in the recently sparked events," the diplomatic mission said.
The ministry called on the parties in Kosovo to resolve the situation through dialogue, as this is "the only way to reduce tensions and establish sustainable peace and stability".
