Russia's Kursk subjected to drone attacks in past 24 hours

An air defence force shot down a Ukrainian aircraft-type drone over the Kursk Region in the morning on September 26.

The regional authorities did not comment on the attempted attack, the Russian Defence Ministry told Kommersant.

On September 25, at around 22:30 and 23:00, air defence forces shot down two UAVs each over the Kursk region. No casualties or damage were reported.

In the early morning of September 25, UAVs attacked the Central District of Kursk. As a result, several private residences and the roof of an administrative building were damaged, and windows were blown out in an apartment building. Another drone landed in Kursk district, resulting in broken windows in a private house.

In addition, a Ukrainian drone said to drop explosives on an electrical substation in a village in the Kursk Region, the governor of the region, Roman Starovoyt, wrote on his Telegram channel.

"In the morning, a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive device on an electrical substation in the village of Snagost in the Korenevsky district," he wrote.

According to him, seven settlements were de-energised as a result of the drone attack.

None of the residents were injured. Starovoit stressed that emergency crews would start restoring the power supply "as soon as the situation permits".
