Germany not Ukraine's ally - defence minister
German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said that Germany is not an ally of Ukraine, while the country continues to supply military aid within its capabilities.
He made the remarks while commenting on statements that the funds and weapons sent to Ukraine are not enough.
"We are doing what we can. The same applies to almost all other allies and partners. But Germany is not an ally of Ukraine and therefore is not in any alliance," Pistorius said in an interview with the ZDF television channel.
The defence minister added that Germany is the second largest provider of military aid to Ukraine, "ahead of others." However, the military industry cannot ensure deliveries in the required timeframe. "It is important to focus first of all on the sustainability of deliveries," Pistorius said.
