Russia aims for enhanced transport connectivity in greater Eurasia

17 May 2024 20:54

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk emphasized at the plenary session of the forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" that Russia aims to enhance the transport and logistics connectivity of greater Eurasia to foster improved competitive conditions.

Overchuk highlighted the importance of these efforts in providing better competitive conditions for commodity producers, TASS reports.

"Colleagues here have already talked about those infrastructure projects, the creation of the North-South corridor, which we are conducting together with our partners. Here we are closely cooperating with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. This is the development of both railway transport and the development of road transport," he stated.

"We are primarily aimed at ensuring transport and logistics connectivity of greater Eurasia; in this way, we understand that we provide our commodity producers with the best competitive conditions to enter the markets of the global South," Overchuk added.
