British FM calls for creation of a global NATO

UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Liz Truss has advocated for the creation of a global NATO, which will allow monitoring of what is happening in the Indo-Pacific region.

She said this upon her arrival at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, which is taking place on May 15 in Berlin, TASS reports.

"It is important that we focus on a global NATO. Because while protecting Euro-Atlantic security, we also need to pay attention to security in the Indo-Pacific region," Truss said.

"We are working closely with the Ukrainians, Poles and others to ensure that Ukraine has weapons to NATO standards," Truss added, expressing her "strong support" for Finland and Sweden to join the alliance.
