Analyst: France provoking new war between Armenia, Azerbaijan
Head of the Armenian Luys Information and Analytical Centre Hayk Ayvazyan has said that France is provoking a new war between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“First of all, I want to start with the audit that the French want to carry out. If they conduct an audit, they will require all the information. Firstly, it should be noted that Russia also has a joint air defence system in other CSTO [the Collective Security Treaty Organisation] member states, and if the French come to us and conduct this audit, then they will know how this system works in other countries. Because, from the point of view of technical parameters, this is the same system and technology, and the same data. This means the system will be exposed,” Ayvazyan said in an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
“Secondly, if France really wants to arm Armenia, they should arm it in such a way that no one knows about it, secretly. No one should know what weapons, and ammunition are being transferred. Everything must be implemented secretly. The French supply weapons through Georgia and everyone knows about it,” head of the Luys Information and Analytical Centre noted.
“These actions do not correspond to the statements of the Armenian authorities because they constantly say that Azerbaijan may attack if we don’t do this, or if we don’t sign a peace treaty. If you know that Azerbaijan can attack based on its logic, then why is this PR campaign required? We are actually provoking Azerbaijan to attack. Therefore, Azerbaijan says that France is providing Armenia with weapons, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev knows very well that these 50 armoured vehicles have no capabilities and are nothing. I am far from the military sphere, however, I also know that 50 armoured vehicles are nothing, but the Armenian authorities are doing such PR as if they received ballistic missiles. Azerbaijan is taking advantage of this, declaring that France is providing Armenia with weapons, Armenia does not want peace and is preparing for revenge. This means that France is seeking a new war,” Ayvazyan said.
