Antalya–Volgograd flight diverts to Astrakhan amid airspace restrictions
An Antalya–Volgograd flight was diverted to Astrakhan after flight restrictions were introduced at Volgograd Airport, the press service of the city’s air hub said.
The airport noted that the Ural Airlines Antalya–Volgograd service was redirected to an alternate airfield due to restrictions affecting the region’s airspace, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The departure of a Flydubai flight to the UAE and the arrival of an Aeroflot flight from Moscow were also delayed amid the ongoing restrictions.
On the morning of November 6, reports said Volgograd had come under an intensive attack by Ukrainian Armed Forces unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which continued for more than five hours.
Residents reported more than 40 explosions in the city.
The attack came from two directions, with most of the blasts heard in the western and northern parts of Volgograd.
According to eyewitnesses, the UAVs were flying at low altitude from the direction of the Volga River.
