Arab Parliament calls for boycott of Swedish products due to Quran-burning
The Arab League's legislative body, the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union-AIPU, has called on parliaments around the world to boycott Swedish products and refrain from visiting the Scandinavian country.
The statement was issued in response to the provocation of the Quran burning in Stockholm, Anadolu reports.
The LAS lawmakers called the anti-Islamic incident in the Swedish capital city a "grave crime" and stressed the inadmissibility of infringement on the religious feelings of people, regardless of their faith.
The Inter-Arab Parliament stressed that attacks on religion are prohibited by international legal instruments.
On the first day of Eid in Stockholm, an Iraqi national named Salwan Momika burned a copy of the Quran. In the area where the anti-Islamic action took place, police protection was provided.
