Araghchi, Lavrov hold talks on Iran–US memorandum

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to discuss an Iran–US memorandum aimed at resolving the conflict with the United States, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said, in a statement on Telegram, that Araghchi provided details on the memorandum of understanding and stressed the United States’ responsibility for properly implementing its provisions, as well as the need for a complete halt to Israeli military actions against Lebanon, Caliber.Az reports.

“In the course of this telephone conversation, the Iranian foreign minister explained the details of the memorandum of understanding and emphasised the responsibility of the United States for the proper implementation of its provisions and the necessity of a complete cessation of military actions by Israel against Lebanon,” the statement noted.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry added that Lavrov and Araghchi also discussed bilateral relations and developments in the Middle East.
