Armenia anticipates major investments following US talks, PM says
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on January 14 that significant investments and substantial funds are expected to flow into the region, describing the development as “excellent news.”
He made the remarks during a speech at the Security Forum, referring to a joint statement by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, Caliber.Az reports.
Pashinyan emphasised that it is clear what role the United States should play in the region and indicated that discussions with European Union partners regarding their participation and specific projects are also planned. He highlighted the importance of continuing political dialogue with Türkiye, noting that Armenia hopes recent agreements reached at the political level will be reflected on the ground.
The prime minister described the current situation as “incredibly positive,” though he acknowledged that not all issues have been fully resolved. He added that the frameworks for resolving the remaining challenges have, in essence, already been determined.
The comments follow the release of a roadmap by Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 13, outlining an initiative titled The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). The roadmap was unveiled after talks in Washington between Mirzoyan and Rubio.
