Armenia denies Azerbaijani shelling on Nakhchivan border Calls it “disinformation” / PHOTO
The Armenian Ministry of Defence has strongly denied claims that Azerbaijani forces fired on Armenian positions along the Nakhchivan border, calling the reports “false” and part of a wider disinformation campaign.
According to Caliber.Az, Aram Torosyan, the ministry’s spokesperson, took to Facebook to address the social media posts, saying: “This is not true; it is yet another piece of disinformation. What else can it be but a manifestation of a hybrid campaign against the state?”

The controversy arose after journalist David Galstyan reported on December 23 that Azerbaijani troops had allegedly opened fire on Armenian positions several times. He added that, according to his sources, the shots were not aimed directly.
The Ministry of Defence’s swift rebuttal reflects growing sensitivity in the region over reports of cross-border incidents, which have frequently sparked tension and rapid online speculation.
