Armenia denies receiving Russian notice on gas supply cut
Armenia has denied receiving any official notice from Russia about a possible halt to key supply agreements, including natural gas, petroleum products, and rough diamonds.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said it had not been contacted by Russian authorities regarding any potential termination of these arrangements, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
“The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia has not received any letters or notifications from Russia on this matter,” the ministry said.
The statement comes after a report by Kommersant claimed that a letter had been sent to the Armenian side on behalf of Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev. According to the report, the letter raised the possibility of suspending or unilaterally terminating supply agreements if Armenia continues its efforts to join the European Union.
