Armenia, Germany agree to expand defence cooperation
Armenia and Germany have agreed to enhance defence cooperation for 2026 following bilateral consultations held on October 28-29 at Armenia’s Ministry of Defence.
The talks were co-chaired by Head of Armenian Defence Policy and International Cooperation Department Levon Ayvazyan and Head of the International Cooperation Department of the German Ministry of Defence Colonel Christian Schmidt, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
The consultations focused on reviewing the outcomes of defence cooperation in 2025 and establishing plans for the upcoming year. Both sides exchanged perspectives on key international and regional security concerns, along with the ongoing defense reforms in each country.
An emphasis was placed on further developing cooperation in multilateral frameworks within NATO and the European Union. As a result, agreements were made to expand bilateral defence collaboration across various sectors.
