Armenia imposes exit restrictions on opposition politician

Authorities in Armenia have imposed travel restrictions on Narek Karapetyan, a member of the opposition bloc Strong Armenia, after he attempted to cross the border with Georgia.

In a Facebook live broadcast, the politician said he and his colleagues had planned to visit the Upper Lars border checkpoint on the Georgia–Russia border in order to assess the situation regarding Armenian agricultural exports, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

“But border service officers informed us that my visit was prohibited and imposed restrictions on me,” Karapetyan said.
