Armenia, Iran focus on strengthening regional cooperation
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional and global issues.
Abbas Araghchi, who is currently on an official visit to Armenia, also held a prior meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
Araghchi and his Armenian counterpart Mirzoyan had a joint working dinner on March 24 evening, shortly after his arrival in Yerevan. The discussions focused on key bilateral and regional issues, emphasizing the continued cooperation between the two countries.
The situation in the Caucasus region is a central topic on the agenda.
The visit, announced by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, follows an invitation from Armenia's foreign minister. The trip is part of Iran’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with its neighbors, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional developments.
In a related development, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke with Prime Minister Pashinyan on March 16, exchanging views on bilateral relations and underlining the importance of regional peace and stability, especially among neighboring countries.
