Four freight train carriages derail in Russia's Tatarstan

Four carriages of a freight train derailed at Yudino station in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan on August 4, with no injuries reported, according to the Gorky Railway.

In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the railway operator said the incident occurred at 13:29 local time.

“Today, 4 August, at 13:29, four carriages of a freight train derailed at Yudino station on the Gorky Railway. No one was injured. The causes of the incident are being investigated,” the statement said.

The operator added that a recovery train had been dispatched to clear the site and manage the aftermath of the derailment.

Passenger train services at Yudino station are continuing as normal while authorities investigate the cause of the incident.
