Türkiye presses Russia, Ukraine over Black Sea shipping safety after vessel attack

Türkiye on August 4 urged Russia and Ukraine to take steps to guarantee safe navigation in the Black Sea after a drone strike hit a Turkish-owned vessel and left three crew members seriously injured near Russia's Novorossiysk port.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said Ankara was deeply concerned over the targeting of civilian vessels in the Black Sea despite "all of our warnings", adding that it was closely monitoring the condition of its citizens, Caliber.Az reports via Reuters.

Earlier, a Turkish Ro-Ro vessel carrying fresh fruit and vegetables from Türkiye to Russia came under attack in the Black Sea.
