President: Armenia moves beyond Russia’s “little brother” role

Armenia is no longer Russia’s “little brother,” Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan said in an interview with RTVI.

“Now our relationship with Russia is completely different — it is a partnership. Russia’s approach to Armenia is not that of an older and younger brother, but simply a partnership. This is what we have been striving for over the past four years,” the head of state said.

According to him, Armenia has managed to diversify its economy. Yerevan also hopes that Moscow will “take into account the independent decisions of the Armenian authorities.”
