Azerbaijan may file a compensation claim with Armenia for the exploitation of mineral deposits in the liberated territories.

Ali Aliyev, Head of the National Geological Exploration Department at the Ministry of Natural Resources, made the statement on June 3, according to APA.

He noted that it is initially needed to calculate the total cost of this operation.

“But before that, we must calculate the total cost of this exploitation,” Aliyev said.

According to the unconfirmed preliminary estimates, the environmental crimes of Armenia in the once occupied lands caused $285 billion in damages to Azerbaijan.
