Armenia prepares to receive Kazakh grain following Baku-Yerevan agreement, FM says

Armenia is set to receive Kazakh grain following a transit agreement with Azerbaijan, marking a significant step in regional trade cooperation. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the delivery reflects growing interest from Armenia’s partners after the lifting of transit restrictions, while highlighting ongoing diplomatic and economic engagements with Russia, CIS countries, and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Following the recent lifting of transit restrictions through Azerbaijan, Armenia has experienced growing interest from regional partners. In particular, preparations are underway for a visit by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Kazakhstan. Mirzoyan expressed confidence that Kazakh grain, whose supply was jointly announced by Yerevan and Baku, will soon be delivered to Armenia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

“Intensive discussions are currently underway with Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on logistics and energy issues, the resumption of air travel, and other matters,” the minister added, underscoring Armenia’s efforts to enhance regional connectivity and trade.

Mirzoyan confirmed that Russia remains a key economic partner for the country, emphasizing the continuation of close cooperation on a range of issues, including migration challenges affecting Armenian carriers, 

The Armenian FM also highlighted the robust development of Armenia’s relations with CIS countries and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

“Cooperation within both frameworks is progressing rapidly,” he noted, stressing the importance of the EAEU’s engagement with third countries such as China, Iran, and Indonesia, as well as the strengthening of partnerships among member states.
