Armenia records major boost in export and import cargo transportation
In the third quarter of 2025, Armenia recorded a significant increase in international cargo transportation activity, with the number of requests for shipments from the country to other destinations rising by 30 per cent year-on-year and soaring by 116 per cent compared with the previous quarter.
According to Caliber.Az, citing data from Armenian media and the international “ATI.SU Freight Transportation Exchange,” the volume of cargo transportation requests — both for exports and imports — has risen notably.
Freight rates also went up, showing a 6 per cent annual increase and a 15 per cent rise compared with the previous quarter.
Overall, the number of requests for cargo deliveries to Armenia from abroad placed on the “ATI.SU Freight Exchange” platform grew by 29 per cent year-on-year and by 15 per cent quarter-on-quarter. Meanwhile, the cost of importing cargo transportation increased by 22 per cent over the year.
Russia remains Armenia’s main trading partner, leading in the number of freight applications, with growth of 22 per cent compared with the same period last year and 17 per cent compared with the previous quarter. Belarus demonstrated the strongest growth dynamics, with freight requests surging by an impressive 133 per cent year-on-year.
