Armenia-Russia trade falls 21.5% in early 2026
Trade between Armenia and Russia fell by 21.5% in January–May 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data from Armenia’s Statistical Committee reviewed by TASS.
Bilateral trade totalled $2.196 billion in the first five months of 2026, down from $2.763 billion in January–May 2025. Russia’s share of Armenia’s overall trade also declined to 28% from 35.1% over the same period.
The share of Armenia’s trade with countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) dropped to 29.8% from 36.7% a year earlier. However, trade with other EAEU members increased, rising by 8.3% with Belarus, 10% with Kazakhstan and 194.8% with Kyrgyzstan.
Armenia’s total trade turnover stood at $7.865 billion in January–May 2026, marginally down 0.1% from $7.870 billion in the same period of 2025, according to the Statistical Committee.
