Armenia’s future depends on its citizens, says Russian diplomat

Armenia’s future ultimately rests in the hands of its citizens, who have the opportunity to make decisions guided by the country’s national interests, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Zakharova told journalists that Armenian citizens are in a position to determine the direction of their country through their own choices, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“They [the citizens of Armenia] have every opportunity now to make a choice in favor of their own country, taking into account national interests,” she said.

The Russian diplomat also stressed that Moscow has consistently supported the Armenian people and has never acted against their interests.

“We have always supported them, helped them, and at times simply saved them. But the decision rests with the citizens of Armenia,” Zakharova stated.
