Armenia’s new envoy to Russia delivers credentials
Armenian new Ambassador to Russia Gurgen Arsenyan has presented copies of his credentials to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
The discussion covered the current state and future prospects of the Russia-Armenia relations, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Galuzin extended his best wishes to Arsenyan for success in his mission in Moscow. Arsenyan was appointed Armenia's ambassador to Russia on August 14. He succeeded former Armenian Defence Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan who held the position since January 2022. Prior to his appointment as ambassador, Arsenyan, as a legislator, had made several anti-Russian statements. However, following his new role, he has pledged to adhere to diplomatic neutrality, acknowledging that as a diplomat he must refrain from expressing internal political views due to the principle of political restraint.
