Armenia to host 49th BSEC Ministerial Council Meeting
The next session of the BSEC Ministerial Council, chaired by Armenia, is scheduled for December, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry following recent discussions in this format.
"The upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of BSEC member states will be held in December under Armenia's chairmanship," the ministry announced, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Highlighting the importance of constructive dialogue within the organization, the diplomatic statement emphasized the necessity of fair and balanced external relations. It also criticized what it described as the European Union's attempts to politicize processes and impose biased rules and standards in the Black Sea region.
The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is a regional economic organization comprising twelve member states located in the Black Sea region and beyond. Established in 1992, its primary aim is to foster economic cooperation among its members and promote stability and prosperity in the region.
BSEC consists of twelve member states: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
The organisation aims to promote economic development and cooperation in various sectors such as trade, investment, transport, energy, and environmental protection. It also seeks to enhance cultural and humanitarian exchanges among member states.
