Armenian authorities detain vice president of Russian-linked business group

Armenia’s Investigative Committee has reported the detention of A.G., the vice-president of the organization “Armenian Business Council of the Russian Federation.”

The individual arrived in Armenia from Russia on May 31, 2026, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

Authorities say A.G. publicly promised via a Telegram channel to organize the free relocation of Armenian citizens living in Russia and to handle all logistical arrangements related to their relocation in order to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7.

The Investigative Committee stated that an investigation is ongoing into the case.
