Armenian-Azerbaijani border delimitation, demarcation commission still being formed

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan has said that a commission for the delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has not been established yet.

“We are still establishing a commission for the delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The situation changes here from time to time. For example, the Armenian side can say “Stop” and take a step back due to any shot at the border. I mention this as an example. I would like to say that this is a complex process and there may be certain changes in one direction or another,” Simonyan made these remarks in an interview with Factor.am, Caliber.Az reports.

It is important that "the sides realize the need to move forward". As for the name of the Armenian co-chairman of the commission for delimitation and demarcation of the border, the speaker of the Armenian parliament noted that at this stage, he would like to refrain from giving a specific answer.

“We have an idea on this issue, I have information, however, at this stage, I would not like to talk about it,” the speaker of the Armenian parliament said, adding that the candidacy has not been approved yet.

While answering whether one of the deputy prime ministers could become co-chairman, Simonyan said that such a possibility is not ruled out.
