Armenian deputy PM expresses hope for resolution of differences with Russia

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has expressed hope that existing disagreements between Armenia and Russia will be resolved through dialogue, while reaffirming the importance of longstanding ties between the two countries.

Speaking at an event marking Russia Day, Grigoryan delivered a congratulatory message emphasising the historical relationship between Armenia and Russia, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

“Armenia and Russia are bound by centuries-old historical ties based on mutual respect, strong friendship, and close humanitarian ties between our peoples,” Grigoryan said.

He stressed that Armenia highly values the history of cooperation with Russia and believes that the continued development of bilateral relations serves the interests of both nations while contributing to regional stability and prosperity.

“We highly value the history of our cooperation and are convinced that the further development of bilateral interaction serves the interests of both countries and contributes to strengthening stability and prosperity in the region. The accumulated experience of our cooperation is a long-term, fundamental, and valuable asset that must be preserved regardless of the configuration of international relations,” he said.

Addressing current tensions in relations, Grigoryan expressed optimism that outstanding issues could be overcome through constructive engagement.

“We express our hope that existing issues and disagreements will be overcome through open dialogue, and that relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation will continue to develop in a spirit of mutual understanding, mutual respect, and good-neighbourliness—for the benefit of our states and peoples,” he noted.
