Armenian government makes key appointment on TRIPP

Armenian Foreign Minister and Minister of International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan has been appointed as the government’s representative to discuss the TRIPP project in the National Assembly.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said implementing the TRIPP project would usher in a new era for Armenia and its economy, as Yerevan seeks to expand regional connectivity following the establishment of peace with Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

In his words, the project would also put the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative into practice.

The TRIPP initiative emerged from the August 8, 2025 Washington summit, where Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to develop the project with the United States and other mutually determined parties as part of efforts to establish lasting regional connectivity.

Azerbaijan and the United States subsequently incorporated TRIPP into their broader strategic partnership agenda.

The TRIPP is a transportation initiative covering a roughly 42-kilometre section through Armenia that is intended to facilitate connectivity between Azerbaijan and its exclave of Nakhchivan.
