09 March 2024 15:52

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not hide his disappointment with his two-day official visit to Egypt a he held a closed-door meeting with representatives of the ruling Civil Contract Party in Parliament on March 8.

Armenian Hraparak newspaper notes that it was a response to the Egyptian President's visit to Armenia last January. However, the authorities tried to make Pashinyan's visit mysterious and extremely important, even spreading rumors about the possibility of discussing an arms purchase deal, Caliber.Az reports.

"But at the meeting with the Civil Contract Party, the Prime Minister called the visit ordinary and did not even hide his disappointment that nothing came out of this visit but a waste of state funds," the article noted.

On March 5, the Armenian Prime Minister left for Egypt on a two-day official visit. He held meetings with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
