14 October 2025 17:12

On October 14, 2025, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Elina Valtonen, Finnish Foreign Minister and current OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, in a meeting focused on regional processes and bilateral cooperation.

The discussion was reported by Caliber.Az with reference to Armenian media.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan highlighted the significance of maintaining effective cooperation with the OSCE, noting that a constructive and active dialogue has developed in recent years. He emphasised the need to further strengthen the role of the OSCE in ensuring security and stability within the organisation’s area of responsibility.

Elina Valtonen congratulated Armenia on the establishment of peace with Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that this development would play a key role in securing a stable future for Armenia and fostering enhanced regional cooperation.

The leaders discussed various aspects of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, including the ongoing normalisation process, the continuation of border demarcation efforts, and broader regional issues. Both sides also exchanged views on the development of Armenia-EU relations.

Prime Minister Pashinyan underscored the EU’s consistent support for strengthening democracy and advancing reforms, noting that implementing EU standards across different sectors remains a primary priority for the Armenian government. In this context, discussions addressed anti-corruption measures, civil society development, improvements to the business environment, and reforms across other key sectors.

Additionally, Nikol Pashinyan and Elina Valtonen explored ways to further develop Armenia-Finland relations. They considered opportunities for expanding business ties, attracting investments, and organising high-level mutual visits to promote cooperation between the two countries.
