Armenian PM’s office denies claims about LGBT parade in Yerevan
Claims circulating in the media and on social networks alleging that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had agreed to hold an LGBT community parade in Yerevan on April 7 are false, his press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan said.
Baghdasaryan stated that the material being circulated bears clear signs of foreign information and manipulative interference (FIMI) and is part of broader hybrid influence campaigns, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
She said the author of the publication, Okay Dempsey, has repeatedly spread false and manipulative information targeting Armenia’s state institutions in the past—an activity that has been documented by both Armenian and international experts.
“The aim of such publications is to increase social polarisation and undermine trust in state institutions ahead of electoral processes,” Baghdasaryan said.
