Armenian PM discusses trade, regional stability with Iranian president

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held separate meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in New York.

The meetings took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, according to the Armenian prime minister’s press service, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

During talks with Pezeshkian, Pashinyan said Armenian-Iranian cooperation was developing successfully, with joint programmes being implemented in various areas.

The two sides discussed bilateral trade and economic relations and steps to expand them.

They also stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region and discussed other issues of mutual interest.

In his meeting with Mitsotakis, Pashinyan discussed the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Greece.

The two sides expressed readiness to work closely to take Armenian-Greek relations to a new level and highlighted the importance of organising reciprocal high-level visits.

They also discussed expanding bilateral economic ties, as well as Armenia-EU relations and regional cooperation programmes.

Pashinyan has been in New York since September 22 on a working visit and is taking part in the UN General Assembly session.

He is expected to address the high-level general debate, which is being held in New York from September 22 to 28.
