Armenian President on people's appreciation of Putin’s role in ceasing Karabakh war
Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan has said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the opportunity to stop the war was on October 19, 2020.
This is evidenced by the transcript of the meeting posted on the Kremlin's website, according to Caliber.Az.
“The Armenian people appreciate your efforts in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. I can tell you that what you did during the hostilities, your efforts, with the help of which the war stopped, is also appreciated not only by me as a person. I know that the population of Armenia also appreciates this.
In fact, we wanted to stop early, and somehow end the war, and I know your efforts. You also had the opportunity on October 19, 2020 - we talked about this with Sergey Viktorovich [Lavrov] when he was in Yerevan. However, it turned out that on November 9, 2020, but most importantly, the war stopped,” the President of Armenia said.
