Armenian pundit says France's military aid won't make Armenia stronger than Azerbaijan

29 November 2023 11:25

Levon Zurabyan, deputy chairman of the Armenian National Congress, during his interview with Armenian media, described Nikol Pashinyan's behaviour as the behaviour of a helpless, insecure person.

"Armenia is a member of the CSTO, and even if it has very serious problems with the organisation, it has formal and informal levers and thus can influence the organisation's decisions," he said in an interview, Caliber.Az reports.

"Instead of using these levers, to go and discuss as a normal politician and statesman would do, Armenia is involved in some incomprehensible boycotts. It should either leave the CSTO or use its levers. Nikol Pashinyan does neither. What Nikol Pashinyan is doing with Russia is enmity. He thinks that by slapping Putin in the face, he can get Western support. And this is an important question: does the West want Armenia to become a NATO member? I say unequivocally: firstly, it is obvious that they have no intention. Besides, the US has stated that it will not provide us with military assistance. However, this is not the main question. What is important, is whether military assistance provided by France can make us stronger than Azerbaijan. It definitely can't.

In addition, the main problem that Armenia is trying to solve on behalf of Pashinyan is how to replace the document of November 10, which, in fact, was a ceasefire document. Both Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan violated the agreements of this document. Azerbaijan violated this document, but it was caused by the violation of Armenia, which did not fulfil its promises. Russia also violated it. Now the question arises: why Nikol Pashinyan does not declare withdrawal from the statement of November 10? By the way, this is the only thing he does right. He does not, because if Armenia unilaterally withdraws from that document, it will mean that Armenia will unilaterally withdraw from the ceasefire agreement, which will give Azerbaijan a reason to start a war. That is why he is here and there inviting Aliyev to Granada in the hope of signing some document. Aliyev realises this and does not go," Zurabyan said.
