Armenian soldier found hanged ex-defence chief's relative
Armenian army serviceman Anrdanik Ohanyan, who was found dead on March 8, is a relative of the former defence minister, leader of the Armenia faction, war criminal Seyran Ohanyan and the grandson of his uncle.
The statement came from the Yerevan-based daily Hraparak, Caliber.Az reports.
The Armenian Defence Ministry reported on March 8 that the body of the serviceman of military unit Andranik Ohanyan was found dead.
Later, the Armenian Investigative Committee stated that Andranik Ohanyan's body was discovered hanging in the forest near the army assembly point.
A criminal case has been opened in the garrison Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in connection with the incident under Part 1 of Armenian Criminal Code Article 52 and a preliminary investigation is underway.
A forensic medical examination of the body was ordered, and a number of military servicemen, both officers and colleagues, were questioned.
The Armenian Investigative Committee reports that all necessary and urgent steps are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
