Armenian speaker demands apology from Russian media PHOTO
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan sharply criticised Russian news portal RBC.ru, accusing it of spreading false information and demanding an apology from Russian media.
Writing on Telegram, Simonyan stated that a report by the news channel suggested relatives of missing servicemen had approached him outside the National Assembly building.
“Today, the news channel RBC.ru published an article claiming that relatives of missing servicemen approached me in front of the National Assembly building. I told them, ‘No, I don’t have time to talk, there’s no point in speaking with you, you don’t deserve it.’
I urge the news channel either to provide video evidence identifying the relative or relatives I supposedly spoke to, or to apologise and remove my name from the article, as the published claims are not true.
Of course, there is a third option — to pretend they did not see my post, thus placing their organisation alongside other irresponsible media,” Simonyan noted.
