Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said that Armenian, Turkish leaders maintain constant contact.
“Armenia sincerely wants the border with Türkiye to open as soon as possible,” he said in an interview with Anadolu, Sputnik Armenia reports.
The minister, who recently attended the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, said that Yerevan is interested in establishing diplomatic relations and activating contacts "between people and cultures”.
The foreign minister noted that there is constant contact between the leaders of the two countries Nikol Pashinyan and Recep Erdogan, and "this ensures positive dynamics."
Asked about the benefits of open borders between the two countries, Mirzoyan said that the benefits are obvious and, first of all, it is very important for ordinary people.
The minister said that the sides are now discussing the project of restoring the historic Ani Bridge on the border of the two countries. Some agreements have also been reached on the construction of infrastructures and roads in the border regions.
