ASTRA: Fire breaks out at Krymsk pipeline dispatch station in Russia PHOTO / VIDEO

09 April 2026 09:32

The Krymsk Linear Production and Dispatch Station (LPDS) in the Krasnodar region has caught fire, with its electrical substation ablaze, according to an open-source intelligence analysis by ASTRA based on eyewitness footage.

Residents of Krymsk reported multiple explosions overnight on April 9. The regional governor confirmed one death and a fire on the facility’s premises.

ASTRA’s review of on-site footage indicated that the Krymsk LPDS, part of the main pipeline network, was the target. The 110 kV Krymsk NPS substation, located within the LPDS operated by Chernomortransneft, a subsidiary of Transneft, caught fire.

Local media reported that Krymsk LPDS is managed by the Krasnodar District Main Oil Pipeline Administration (KRUMN), itself part of Chernomortransneft. The station pumps oil and petroleum products through main pipelines, including Tikhoretsk–Novorossiysk 2 and 3, Krymsk–Grushovaya, and Krymsk–Krasnodar, as well as the Tikhoretsk–Novorossiysk 1 petroleum pipeline. From Krymsk LPDS, oil and products are transported to Novorossiysk port or to the Ilsky and Afipsky refineries.
