ASTRA: Fires erupt in two cities of Russia’s Chuvashia region after blasts PHOTO / VIDEO

Fires broke out overnight in two cities in Russia’s Chuvashia region, with local residents reporting explosions prior to the incidents, according to open-source accounts.

Blazes were reported in the cities of Kanash and Alatyr in the early hours of May 2. The causes of the fires have not yet been officially confirmed.

According to OSINT analyst ASTRA, one of the fires occurred at the 220 kV “Kanash” high-voltage electrical substation, while another broke out at the office building of an energy sales company in Alatyr.

Residents in both locations said they heard explosions shortly before the fires began, though authorities have not released any statements addressing these claims.
