ASTRA: New strike hits Russia's oil sector as fire erupts near Afipsky refinery PHOTO
A fire broke out near the tank farm of the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region following an attack, according to OSINT analyses published by ASTRA.
Based on the available footage, it has not been possible to determine the exact location of the fire.
Explosions and a fire were reported in the Krasnodar region during the night of July 14. According to ASTRA’s analysis, one of the videos was filmed from 50 Years of October Street, approximately four kilometres from the tank farm of the Afipsky refinery. The exact facility burning in the footage has not been confirmed.
ASTRA also reported that one of Russia’s largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat in the Republic of Bashkortostan, was attacked and caught fire.
In addition, ASTRA’s assessment suggested that a fuel storage and distribution facility operated by Rosneft-Opt may also have been targeted. Rosneft-Opt is a sales subsidiary of Rosneft responsible for the wholesale distribution of petroleum products through the company’s fuel depot network. The facility is not a standalone oil refinery but rather part of a fuel storage and distribution system.
