ASTRA: Smoke rises near major poultry farm in Russia’s Udmurtia PHOTO
Smoke was seen near a major poultry facility in Russia’s Udmurt Republic following overnight drone attack warnings, according to geolocation analysis by the independent outlet ASTRA.
The alerts were initially announced by the head of the republic, Alexander Brechalov, who warned residents of potential drone threats overnight.
ASTRA’s open-source intelligence analysts identified one of the circulating images of smoke as being taken near the Udmurt Poultry Farm LLC in the city of Glazov. According to the analysis, the smoke appeared approximately 500 metres from a nearby power substation.
No casualties or damage have been officially confirmed.
The Udmurt Poultry Farm, established in 1980, is the largest broiler poultry producer in the region and operates under the agricultural conglomerate KOMOS GROUP.
At around 8 a.m. local time, Brechalov announced that the republic’s “Dangerous Sky” alert had been lifted. However, the “Unmanned Danger” and “Carpet” emergency alert levels remained in force, signaling continued concerns over possible drone activity.
