Attack in Russia’s Belgorod region leaves one civilian dead
A civilian has been killed in a drone strike attributed to Ukrainian forces on Russia’s Belgorod region, local officials have said.
According to regional authorities, the incident occurred in the Graivoronsky district on Monday morning, Russian media reports.
The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, confirmed that one civilian died as a result of the attack.
In remarks carried by Russian media, Gladkov said the region is “effectively in a state of war”, adding that he hoped for changes on the frontline that would allow the area to return to “peaceful and constructive work”.
Separately, officials reported that three people were injured the previous day in drone strikes on the Belgorod region. Two of the injured were taken to hospital, while the third is continuing treatment at home.
