AZAL launches inaugural Baku-Bucharest flight
Azerbaijan's national air carrier AZAL successfully completed its inaugural flight on the Baku-Bucharest-Baku route on June 3.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines, the airline's plane received a traditional water arch greeting upon arrival. A solemn ceremony was held in Bucharest to commemorate the first flight, attended by key dignitaries including Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania Gudsi Osmanov, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasile Soare, Romania's Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Stefan-Radu Oprea, and several other notable officials from both nations.
In their speeches, the participants highlighted the significance of the new direct flight in enhancing ties between Azerbaijan and Romania, promoting mutual tourism exchange. They noted Azerbaijan's extensive efforts to boost tourism, underscoring the state's commitment to making the country a prime tourist destination.
The launch of direct flights is expected to make Azerbaijan more accessible to Romanian tourists, fostering an increase in tourist flow between the two countries and strengthening bilateral relations.
The Baku-Bucharest-Baku flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. Flight schedules and tickets are available on the official AZAL website, www.azal.az, or via the AZAL mobile application.
