Azerbaijan appeals to international organisations to stop using double standards
Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) Sabina Aliyeva has appealed to international organisations over another mass grave discovered near the fortress walls in Asgaran village in the liberated Khojaly district.
She reminded that as a result of the policy of occupation, genocide, deportation and terror pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan for many years, thousands of Azerbaijanis were killed due to national and religious hatred, captured, missing and taken hostage, the Ombudsperson’s Office told Report.
“The discovery of another mass grave in Askeran, in which there are presumably the remains of victims of the Khojaly genocide, once again confirms that Armenia committed genocide against Azerbaijan, which is the most heinous crime against humanity,” the ombudsperson noted.
Aliyeva added that despite numerous appeals to international organisations regarding the crimes committed by Armenia, the facts of genocide have not been legally assessed at the international level, and those responsible for committing numerous crimes have not been brought to justice yet.
The ombudsperson called on international organisations to put an end to the indifferent attitude and double standards towards Azerbaijan.
After the 44-day second Karabakh war, mass graves were discovered on the territory of the Shusha prison and Dashalti village, Sarijali village of the Aghdam district, Edilli village of the Khojavend district, Farrukh village of the Khojaly district, Yukhari Seyidahmadli village of the Fuzuli district and Bashlibel village of the Kalbajar district. To date, the remains of about 400 people have been found.
