Baku, Tashkent discuss defence industry cooperation PHOTO

On May 8, the Deputy Minister of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan, Hidayat Azimov, met with a delegation from Uzbekistan headed by Mansurjon Ibodullaev, the Director of the Defence Industry Agency under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defence.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the defence industry, emphasised the favourable opportunities for further expanding ties, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence Industry.

The meeting also saw the parties highlighting the positive impact of such visits on the development of bilateral ties.

In February, at the IDEX-2025 International Defence Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, and Mansurjon Ibodullaev, Director of Uzbekistan’s Defence Industry Agency, signed a roadmap for defence industry cooperation. This agreement between Azersilah Defence Industry Holding (Azerbaijan) and the Defence Industry Agency (Uzbekistan) aims to explore and develop mutual interests in the military-technical field .
