Azerbaijan boosts industrial zone production

Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov has said that production in the industrial zones of Azerbaijan increased by 53 per cent in the first half of 2022.

According to Trend, he made the statement at a July 15 meeting on the results of the six months of the year under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev.

"Despite the negative trends in the global economy, Azerbaijan's economy grew at a high rate in the first half of 2022. Thus, among the priority sectors of the non-oil sector, the added value grew in the non-oil and gas industry by 11 per cent, in the transport sector by 27 per cent, in tourism and catering by 86 per cent, in the information and communication sector by 14 per cent. The contribution of industrial zones to industrialization processes is growing. In the first half of 2022, production in industrial zones increased by 53 per cent compared to the same period last year, and exports doubled," Jabbarov said.
