Flights between Tabriz, Baku resume after suspension
Commercial flights between the Iranian city of Tabriz and the Azerbaijani capital Baku have resumed, according to the IRNA News Agency.
To mark the occasion, a formal ceremony was held at Tabriz International Airport, attended by the Governor of East Azerbaijan Province and other senior provincial officials.
Flights between Tabriz and Baku were suspended in mid-June 2025 due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and the closure of airspace by several countries for security reasons.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) announced the cancellations, prioritising passenger safety amid the volatile situation.
The suspension affected multiple international routes, including Baku–Tabriz–Baku. AZAL assured passengers that the situation was being closely monitored and that flight operations would resume once conditions permitted.
